Anatomy of an Illness as Perceived by the Patient

by Norman Cousins

Norman Cousins was an American journalist who in 1964 fell suddenly ill with a connective tissue disease. Anatomy of an Illness as Perceived by the Patient, published in 1979, is his account of devising his own programme of recovery combining vitamin C with deliberately induced bouts of laughter.
