The US Census Bureau's seasonally adjusted series of online sales as a share of retail sales. The share was 11.9 per cent in the first quarter of 2020, 16.3 per cent in the second, about 14 per cent by 2022, 16.4 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 and 17.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, a preliminary figure. Since the 2025 benchmark the series covers employer businesses only.
