Brand Identity Guidelines

A written set of rules for using a brand's name, logo, colour, type, imagery and voice.
What it is
Usually eight sections: purpose and positioning, logo, colour, typography, imagery, voice and tone, do and don't examples, and governance, each with exact specifications and a default. On this site it is read alongside Brand Identity, Choice Architecture and Goal Setting Theory.
In effect
Illustrated in the article with generic rule examples, none taken from a real brand.
What it does not say
It is not the same thing as Brand Identity, which sits close to it on this site but describes a different part of how people decide. It also does not say that the finding reaches every product, buyer or setting; where this page goes beyond the cited research, the step is an inference and is labelled as one.
