Life Status Changes and Changes in Consumer Preferences and Satisfaction
Andreasen proposes and tests a model that links objectively defined changes in a household's life status to changes in brand preferences and overall satisfaction with purchases. Analyses of cross-sectional data from one metropolitan area give strong support to the model. The results imply that households going through a status change are more likely to be changing brand preferences on their own and to be open to approaches from change agents in future.
