Lighting, indoor color, buying behavior and time spent in a store

Barli (2012) · Color Research & Application · Read the paper

Barli and colleagues studied a large group of men and women aged between twenty and sixty in a store setting with two kinds of lighting, soft and bright, and five indoor colours: blue, yellow, green, red and white. Green was associated with more product purchase, and time spent in the store was linked to purchase. Time in the store was longer under soft lighting and shorter with a red interior.
