Confident you can detect financial fraud? Think again
A survey of 1,004 US adults in September 2025. Seventy-one per cent were highly confident they could detect financial fraud, yet 63 per cent would definitely or probably invest in an offer of a guaranteed, risk-free 25 per cent annual return for five years. The groups most confident in their fraud-detection abilities were among the least likely to detect the fraud.
