Jakubowski, Eerola, Tillmann, Perrin and Heine: about 470 adults aged 18 to 82 rated 111 chart songs (1950 to 2015) for autobiographical memory association, familiarity and liking; a bump peaking around age 14 for salience and familiarity; liking varied more with current age; young adults showed higher liking for music from their parents' adolescent years; music-related memories seem to draw on retrieval processes similar to word-cued memories.
