The effects of consumers' FoMo tendencies on impulse buying and the effects of impulse buying on post-purchase regret: an investigation on retail stores

Karapınar Çelik (2019)

Karapınar Çelik, Eru and Çop investigate how a tendency toward fear of missing out affects impulse buying and post-purchase regret, and how impulse buying affects regret. They note that people spend much of their time checking social media and that the desire to be included in a group can lead to impulsive action. Data were collected by survey from several hundred people, and the analysis drew on the respondents who followed retail stores' opportunities.
