Teaching temptation bundling to boost exercise: a field experiment

Kirgios (2020) · Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes · Read the paper

Kirgios and colleagues tested teaching temptation bundling inside the StepUp programme with a gym chain. In the main analysis of 6,792 members, a free audiobook with encouragement to bundle raised the likelihood of a weekly visit by 10 to 14 per cent, during the programme and for up to seventeen weeks afterwards. Encouragement added a modest benefit over a free audiobook alone. Reading depth: full text; figures used are 6,792, 10 to 14 per cent and seventeen weeks.
