Good abandonment in mobile and PC internet search

Li (2009) ยท Read the paper

Li, Huffman and Tokuda explore good abandonment in internet search. Abandoning a query is usually treated as a negative signal, but the authors define good abandonment as an abandoned query whose information need was met by the results page, with no need to click or refine. They analyse abandoned queries on PC and mobile in three locales, to estimate how common good abandonment is and which kinds of information need lead to it.
