The influence of implementation of the four disciplines of execution on the achievement of commercial credit targets at PT Bank Sumut
Benyamin Siahaan, Yeni Absah and Isfenti Sadalia test whether implementing the four disciplines of execution affects the achievement of commercial credit targets at a regional bank in Indonesia. The sample is the 43 relationship managers in the bank's credit division, who had been trained in the method and had used it for at least two semesters. The authors combine questionnaires, interviews, company data and observation. They report that each of the four disciplines has a positive effect on target achievement, and that the method increased employee responsibility and kept teams engaged through the scoreboard and regular sessions. The paper describes its design inconsistently, as mixed methods in the abstract and as descriptive qualitative in the methods section, and it does not explain the statistical tests behind its percentages. The data come from one organisation and are largely self-reported.
