Can uniform color color aggression? Quasi-experimental evidence from professional ice hockey
Webster, Urland and Correll analysed 25 seasons of professional ice hockey penalty minutes, using cases where teams changed their jersey colours as quasi-experiments. Teams were penalised more when wearing black jerseys than when wearing other colours. The authors link black jerseys with more aggression and discuss possible causes. Journal of record: Social Psychological and Personality Science 3(3), 274-281, 2012 (online 2011).
