Health behaviour researcher who led a 2016 randomised trial showing that pictorial cigarette warnings raised quit attempts.

Who they are

Brewer's trial gave 2,149 adult smokers in California and North Carolina pictorial or text-only warnings on their own packs for four weeks. Forty per cent with pictorial warnings tried to quit, against 34 per cent with text warnings. He was also an author of the 2016 meta-analysis of pictorial warnings led by Seth Noar.
